Pond renovation

Like us, wild animals need water to live. In winter we often have the problem in cities that many animals do not have access to drinking water. As the shallow water holes and small wells are often frozen over. In periods of drought, one has the problem that many water points remain dry.

We have a derelict area in the front of the yard that used to be a mini pond. Unfortunately, this is now leaking and no longer holds the water. In addition, this is overgrown and is filled up in autumn by falling leaves. This pond used to be the home of newts and the spawning ground of tree frogs. Unfortunately, the ravages of time gnawed at all areas here on the farm. We would like to make this pond available to nature again and need support for the renovation of the pond.

First you will have to clean the area, drain it with a dirt pump to look for the leak. The overgrown area must be pruned back to prevent falling leaves. A safe entrance for animals such as hedgehogs must be created. The pond is refilled with water and connected to the rainwater system of the garages. Finally, aquatic plants must be brought in and a circulation pump installed so that the water does not tip over.
