Perennial flower meadow
Perennial flower strips are a simple and effective way to promote biodiversity in our cities and towns. They provide food and habitat for a variety of insects, birds and other animals. They also help to improve air quality and the microclimate.
With your help, we would like to create a perennial flower strip in our community. The flower strip should have an area of 200 square meters and should remain in place for several years. Since the germination period of the flowering meadow is approx. 1-3 months, success can only be measured after the first wintering and therefore some work is recurring.
To create the flowering strip we have to carry out the following steps:
- Plowing the area
- Purchasing local seeds
- Crushing the earth with a motor hoe
- Sowing the seeds
- Rolling the seeds
- initial watering
- Mow twice a year
We would like to prove the credibility of feasibility through small projects and show you that even the smallest contribution to the preservation of our flowering meadows can help bring about change.
